How It All Started
The Crazy Cowboy opened it’s doors to the city of Jackson in March of 2003. For Hugo Gamez a family dream had finally become a reality. The dream started in the kitched on the Gamez’s home located in a small town in Mexico. It was there that Hugo learned how to prepare traditional Mexican meals and how to make his mother’s special recipes.
Hugo is the fifth in a family of twelve. To help put food on the table the family ran a catering business from their home. Their dream was to one day open their own restaurant.

The Dream Becomes A Reality
Hugo eventually left Mexico and lansed in Dallas, Texas, after his family could no longer afford to pay for medical school. It was here that he began his restaurant career working as a chef in a five-star restaurant.

The dream to open his own restaurant starting in moting when he moved to Jackson and met his future wife, Kim. It was Kim’s father, who owns a real-estate company, who presented the opportunity that changed everything. After hearing of Hugo’s love for cooking and his desire to open his own restaurant, Kim’s father told them of an available property in the downtown area. With the encouraging words “Here’s your opportunity to fulfill your family’s dream” The Crazy Cowboy was born.
